Online Application Form

Just like the campers, we use the ACTIVE system for our staff registration. There is no cost for these registrations but it will greatly simplify our tasks of trying to keep track of everyone. In addition, this will keep your information from one year to the next so your application will be simpler in future years.

Once you have completed the registration process the appropriate staff members will be notified and will contact you.

Note that you will still need to provide a Police Information Check and complete the Commit to Kids application once every five years. We will let you know when it is due.

Applying

When you press the “Register Now” button below, you will be taken to the ACTIVE Works Registration System. If you have registered with ACTIVE before, you can press the “Sign In” button near the top of the page.¹ Otherwise, just continue and you will be prompted to create your account at the appropriate time.

From the session list, select “Staff Application,” add it to your “Shopping Cart” and continue. (Don’t worry about the shopping cart. While you are “purchasing” an application, the cost is $0.)

Camp Discount for Staff

If you have a boy or boys coming to one of our weeklong camps, and you are coming as a staff member, you can get a $50 discount on the registration. If this interests you, please contact registrar@campteepeepole.org to receive the coupon code to put in before paying for registration. Also make sure to select the family rate when choosing their registration for a discount! You count as another registration even though you are a volunteer! These discounts can stack together.

Keeping Everyone Safe

There are four items that are required from all of our staff.

1. Statement of Faith
As we are a Bible based camp affiliated with the Christian Service Brigade, all staff must be in agreement with our Statement of Faith.

2. References
All new staff, or those that have been away for a few years, will need to provide references. We will contact those references to inquire as to the suitability of the volunteer for the given position.

3. Police Information Check
All staff must provide police information checks (PIC). This applies not only to new staff, but existing staff will need one every five years. If you already have a PIC from another position (say your church or school), you do not need to repeat it, you can simply send us a copy. Otherwise we can provide a letter which will lower, or even waive, the fee required by the police. You will need to pay the fee up front, but will be able to claim it as an expense with the camp.

4. Commit to Kids
All staff must complete an online training course entitled “Commit to Kids.” Just like the PIC, this will need to be done every five years. There is a small cost for this but if you keep the receipt and send it to our registrar, you will be reimbursed. If you have done this course for another position (say your church or school), you do not need to repeat it, you can simply send our registrar a copy of your certificate.
Once you choose to purchase the training it will bring you to a screen with multiple different course options and drop down menus. You need to select the one that is titled,

"Commit to Kids - Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training for those Working with Children

Child sexual abuse prevention training for those who work with children as part of their employment or as a volunteer."

Training Options

First Aid

We strongly encourage our leaders to obtain a first aid certification. This can be obtained through St. Johns Ambulance. Two options include Standard Intermediate First Aid (1 day online and 1 day classroom) or Emergency Basic First Aid (1 day in class) both with a CPR-C designation. First Aid training to a similar level from any accredited provider that complies with CSA Z1210-17 standard would be acceptable.

If you are coming to Camp Teepee Pole as a leader, we will reimburse you for this expense (or from a similar accredited first aid provider to a comparable level). Remember to keep your receipts.
